Using your Starboard inflatable stand up board

Now that we have seen the 2015 Starboard inflatable paddle board range in stock at Green Water Sports, let’s take a look at using one! The video below walks us through unpacking, pumping, installing the fin, care for the board, removing the fin, 2 options for deflating, and packing up. The 2015 Starboard inflatables have seen some great updates to the boards and the overall bag and pump package, as inflatables become a more wholly viable and authentic paddling experience for the majority of paddlers.

The benefits of an inflatable stand up paddle board have always been ease of storage and transportation, a more durable board for bumps and dings in general use and a “softer” board to fall on when you’re still finding your feet or wipeout. Technology has come such a long way now that the drawbacks of an inflatable are fast becoming non existent. Initially, inflatable paddle boards were spongey and a bit slow to paddle and unresponsive. However improvements in design and materials have all but removed those negatives to where inflatables pump to higher pressures, are rigid even with heavier loads on board, and perform on the same level as hard boards, at least for the majority of paddlers. All the while eliminating the need for roof racks, board racks, garages or storage lockers. The video above shows just how easy it is to live with, use and paddle an inflatable board.
