2015 Starboard Astro inflatable paddle boards back in stock

Back in stock at Green Water Sports are the Starboard Astro inflatable stand up boards. Updated for 2015, the Starboard inflatable SUPs are now tougher and stronger. The rails have increased in thickness ensuring the strongest and most rigid build possible without extra weight, making them some of the best boards on the market. The main fin boxes have been standardised to the US box style making fin upgrade or replacement a cinch. The carry bag/backpack also gets a huge update, now featuring wheels, a quick fasten draw string and buckle with extra padding on the back pack side for better comfort.

A new model is also in the range, the 11’6″ Touring, which fills the gap nicely between the 11’2″ Blend and the 12’6″ Touring. Let’s take a look at the boards in a little more detail.

The Starboard Astro 10′ Whopper Deluxe’s shorter length improves maneuverability, making it an easy board to turn, while maintaining good glide for flat-water paddling. At 35″ wide, it is a very stable board that is great for surfing, stretching, fitness, yoga and river riding. The Whopper is one of world’s favorite and most versatile shapes now available as an inflatable. Everybody should own an Astro Whopper; Starboard’s Swiss Army Knife board.

The Starboard Astro 11’6″ Touring is a new model for 2015. Best suited for smaller/lighter paddlers. The well known Starboard Astro Touring boards have paddled lakes, rivers, bays and oceans all over the world for the past two years. The rails are reduced in thickness to create a lower waterline for added stability. The pointy nose pierces through the water efficiently and the rocker is flattened to maximize glide and speed.

Starboard’s 11’6″ Zen Touring board finds good balance between volume and stiffness by using a 4.75″ drop stitch thickness. Featuring 3/4 EVA deck pad, paddle holder, leash d-rings and bungee tie downs for storage.

The Starboard Astro 11’2″ Blend Deluxe is the ultimate easily transportable flatwater-to-wave crossover board. The Blend Deluxe has a wide tail for extra stability, a straight outline for a speedy and efficient glide and a pulled in nose that pierces through the waves and chop. At 32″ wide, the Blend offers a stable and forgiving ride, while maintaining a fast top speed. This new shape combined with the new stiffer technology, it has made for a significant improvement for this best selling model. Extremely user friendly, the inflatable Blend loves to be paddled hard or cruised gently. The best model in the Starboard SUP range for a family of paddlers of different ages, sizes and abilities.
