2017 Red Paddle Co Dragon World Championships to be held in Barbados

In October of this year, the first annual Red Paddle Co Dragon World Championships will be held in the beautiful, Carlisle Bay, Barbados. I don’t think many people would need an excuse to have a getaway in the Caribbean, but now Red Paddle Co has given us an even more valid reason to take a nice end-of-summer trip to race the 22′ Dragon inflatable paddle board against teams from around the world.

Introduced in late 2016 for the 2017 model year, the 22′ Dragon is a unique inflatable paddle board and a one design racing class for teams of 4 people.

While there is no need to ‘qualify’ to compete in the World Championships, all your team needs to have done is participated in a regional Dragon World Series event. Start training now!

With the action taking place over the course of three days in Barbados, the 2017 Dragon World Championships will be unlike any stand up paddle board event you’ve ever experienced – mixing fast, fun team racing with a Caribbean party vibe like no other.

From Red Paddle Co’s press release:

Each race will vary in length and format, and has been designed to test team camaraderie, co-ordination, and determination as much as flat out speed and power. There will be several divisions enabling people of all ages and abilities to take part including, mixed, women’s, men’s and family team categories. With celebrations and entertainment throughout the day and running on late into the night, the Championships are set to be the ultimate paddleboard event.
