Get on the water faster with the Titan Pump

The Red Paddle Co Titan Pump is still the fastest way to inflate your paddle board. People often ask me if there are electric pumps or other pumps I can recommend but I have to honestly say, no, there are none as fast and as efficient as the Titan Pump. Yes, you do have to do the pumping yourself but it’ll get to 20PSI+ in just a few minutes. No other manual pumps will work that quickly and electric pumps will get you to 15PSI only, or will take 15 minutes to get you up to 20PSI. I’d rather that extra 10 mins on the water and I’m sure you would too. Watch the various pumps race to inflate a board.

Let’s hear from John Hibbard, boss man at Red Paddle Co, about how to use the Titan Pump.

Inflating a board using the Red Paddle Co Titan Pump is not only easier, but also quicker than any other SUP pump.

First of all, remove the dust cap from the valve making sure the center pin is in the upper most position. Connect the pump hose to the pull handle making sure not to cross the threads. Take the other end of the pump hose and insert it into the valve. You’ll find the first couple of times this is quite stiff but it will become easier over time.

Now, make sure the stopper is inserted into the back of the pump handle, twist it to lock it into place.

Now you can start pumping.

The first technique to use is: keep your legs straight and use your arms to push down on the pump handle. You’ll get the most efficiency by doing long continuous pump strokes.

When it gets too difficult, keep your arms straight, bend your legs and drop your body weight down onto the pump.

Eventually this will become difficult, so, remove the stopper from the back of the handle and resume pumping. You’ll now find it much easier to keep going. Start again by using your arms, keeping your legs straight, before keeping your arms straight and bending your legs. Drop all of your body weight down onto the pump as it gets harder.

Once you have finished, remove the pump hose from the board and replace the dust cap, you’re good to go!
