Starboard’s Zen Inflatable Paddle Board Range Compared

Head designer of inflatable paddle boards at Starboard HQ introduces the Starboard Zen range of inflatable stand up paddle boards so we can choose the best one for us. Let’s see what he has to say about the Zen boards.

On my left, I have the iGO 10’8″ x 33″ and 11’2″ x 31″+ boards, and on my right, the touring 12’6″ x 30″. Let’s start with the iGO 10’8″ x 33″ on my left, which is perfect for beginners. It is the most stable board due to its width and length, making it suitable for beginners of all sizes and weights. Next to it is the iGO 11’2″ x 31″+, which is 6″ longer and 2″ narrower. This increases the speed and glide and is better suited for smaller paddlers who can hold the paddle closer to the board edge.

These iGO boards are great for all-around use. If you’re focused on expeditions, the touring board is designed for cruising and touring. It has ample volume in the front and back to carry gear and is narrow for fast Gliding and speed.

All boards in the Zen range are built with linear knitted drop stitch and 2000D galvanized rails for strength and stiffness. They have a rear kick pad for practicing turns, d-rings for a shoulder carry strap, and bungees for carrying gear. All boards come with a double action V8 pump that can pump on both up and down strokes and has a deflation function. They also come with a compact boreback for easy transport.

If I were looking for an all-around board, I would choose the 11’2″ x 31″+ iGO as it has a bit more Glide and speed for my 175lbs weight. To learn more about each individual board in the Zen range, check out each product below.
