An often overlooked feature of paddle boards is their durability. Stand up paddle boards are built with the highest tech materials to be strong yet save weight. One of the many special features of an inflatable paddle board is it’s durability and resistance to damage but without the high price tag. From rocks, sand, logs, heels, paddles, limbs, tractors… Basicallly anything you can throw at an inflatable paddle board, it’ll live to fight another day without any damage or any evidence of a beat down.
The guys at Red Paddle Co HQ in the UK took this one step further. On a slow day at the office, they decided to test the strength, durability and bounciness of their board construction. Take a peek at the video below to see what they got up to…
As we receive another delivery of 2014 Red Paddle Co inflatable SUPs this week, let’s take another look at why they stand out in what is becoming a very competitive field in paddling boarding: inflatable boards.
- TEC Air construction – not just construction but a construction process. Highest tech drop-stitch material allowing for high pressures, progressive pressure laminating process for ideal and stiff rocker line
- RSS Battens – patented rocker stiffening system increases board stiffness by 30-50%
- Double layer deck and underside, quad layer rails
- Wheeled gear bag
