Which paddle do I buy? Do I want adjustable? Carbon? Fibreglass? Or will aluminium be ok? What kind of blade? Nylon? Carbon?
See all the details in the article about choosing a SUP paddle.
We touch on:
1. Style and location of stand up paddle boarding
2. Transportation and storage of the SUP paddle
3. Price
There are many options when buying a paddle. A lot of it comes down to price point but who, how and where you use your paddle will help you decide what will work for you. Will you paddle on a shallow lake with exposed rocks or logs? Will your kids get hold of it and give it a beating?
We carry several varieties of SUP paddles by 3 brands. Red Paddle Co, Ke Nalu and Epic Gear.
Red Paddle Co has a selection from basic aluminium adjustable SUP paddles at $99, right though to a 3 piece full carbon adjustable paddle a $299.
Ke Nalu paddles offer the entry level Honu blade and a variety of carbon blades. Each Ke Nalu paddle offers a carbon shaft and carbon handle selection. They are all plug and play so you can mix and match or easily upgrade one component.
Currently we only stock one Epic Gear SUP paddle. It features a unique soft rail on the blade. See the full details here.
