This past week we explored our local lagoon on paddle boards. Once we had navigated our way through the reed and saw grass lined channel, we found ourselves in a large open lagoon with small mangrove islands. Unfortunately our camera was in a bad mood so we only have 3 shots in our gallery.
Out in the lagoon, we could watch the fish through the crystal clear water as they darted about looking for somewhere to hide as we paddled over. The crabs raised their claws in protest before they’d scamper back amongst the mangrove roots. The birds would hear us coming and fly off!
All in all a great tour and chance to escape the hustle and bustle and get back to nature. That’s the beauty of stand up paddle boarding. You can paddle in any waterway and explore places which may have been on your doorstep for years.
For this tour, we used a Red Paddle Co 10’6″ Ride and a 12′ Expedition by Great Lakes Paddleboards. You can find both of these in our shop by following the links.
